This bunkhouse stands 1200 feet up on the slopes of Table Mountain with direct access onto the Black Mountains. Or the Brecon Beacons are within reasonable driving distance.

Lake District, Rydal Centre, Ambleside

Another first visit for the Club. This large bunkhouse is situated between Ambleside and Grasmere, so it’s pretty much in the centre of the Lake District, meaning that you’ve got good walking and scrambling in every direction!

North Devon, Elmscott Hostel (near Hartland Point)

We have sole use of a building which in summer is used as a youth hostel.  Walking on the spectacular coast path of NW Devon, or inland routes.

North Wales, Tyddyn Farm Bunkhouse

18 places @ £17 each; plus £15 for optional Christmas Dinner.

 

Regular STMC winter venue. Comfortable bunkhouse, located just outside the National Park, east of Betws-y-Coed.  This year we have again arranged for the bunkhouse owner, to lay on a 3-course Xmas meal Saturday evening.

Large, comfortable self-catering farmhouse on the shore of Ullswater in the NE lakes.  Opportunity for ice climbing if conditions on Helvellyn are right.  Or there is good walking on the hills either side of Ullswater.

Self-catering unit at the National Mountain Training Centre, complete with climbing wall and dry ski slope.  Plus all the well known walks and climbs, with the chance of some good winter conditions.

Return to a bunkhouse that was highly thought of on our first visit. Located under the Howgill Fells on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales.  Southern Lakes also easily accessible.

Excellent BMC club hut located on the southern side of Snowdon, and at the start of the superb ridge walk on the Nantlle Ridge.

A good quality bunkhouse in the heart of the Peak District, close to climbing at Stanage Edge.  For non-climbers, excellent walking on the Dark Peak.

Apr 13 – 17 Easter Meet

Camping, Macgillycuddy’s Reeks, Co Kerry, Eire

 

Next Easter, we are planning to hold our first ever official meet outside the UK, in the area of Macgillycuddy’s Reeks.

Irish OS Discovery Series 78
